Recap and Another Wedding!

Our Non-Turkey day was a success in the shrimp Alfredo way! That my husband made. Bathroom remodel went about the same as its gone since August, small step forward, three back.

We also exchanged ThanksMas gifts. These are gifts that are Christmas themed and need to be used for Christmas not opened on Christmas. T-Dubs, the original crazy-cat-lady, got an awesome sweater, and i got this SWEET vinyl Exciting Christmas Stories. Winning.
Friday - I worked. Nursed a hang over and the beginnings of a cold.
Saturday - Christmas decor went up, no photos. But some awesome friends we adore got hitched. Well actually they got hitched in Florida a few weeks ago, then had a super fun reception on Saturday. So much fun! we are so excited for them!
Cake toppers done by T-Dubs and a 3D scanner and printer! - then he made dragons with their faces as a wedding gift.
laaawrd please ignore the AWFUL picture of me... beer gut!

Type writer earrings, boom box necklace and chucks for the win. BTW sneakers+dancing = winning!

And I'm Back

You may have seen for one night a ranting post.
I can get pretty worked up and angry and decided i didnt want that out here.

Any Whoo!!!!
Who wants to hear about the 1,957 miles i logged in 13 days! :)
Also i know it doesnt say as many miles but we drove around a bit.
Vacation recap?
Alright. Here is a brief run down.
Snap shot i took into the sun that was BRUTAL on my drive back on Sunday.

Friday Night: arrived at 2am. My Papa passed away at 5 am. See more of that in this post.
Saturday- Monday was lots of family in and out, trying to make plans and service arrangements. Unfortunately, its not for another two weeks, so we will be driving the 1,400 miles home again in two weeks.
Dad had lots for T-Dubs and i to do. He is slowing down these days and isnt recovering quickly from his hernia operation. We moved tons of stuff to the third floor.
Dad did make some time to go shoot some guns.
If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything.
I am into guns.
If you dont like it, dont read my blog. end rant.

Finally, we escaped (mother and i dont always get along, ever). Friday (week later) was lunch wedding rehearsal followed with day drinking, beer runs, night drinking.
Blogger fail; no pictures.
Saturday: HUNG OVER! I am no longer young, my body CANNOT handle crappy bar food, or boozing all day.
Me, Bride - Jenna, Groom - Nick, T-Dubs - goshwerehot. justsaying

Wedding prep and Wedding time. Cried my eyes out, they wrote their own vows, the officiant did a great job, it was just so beautiful.
It was slightly chilly for an outdoor wedding.
But still amazing and beautiful.
AWWWWEEEEE!
Ok, so open bar but i was still gurgle-ly. Gross.
Venue shut down at 10, shuttle provided back to the hotel, where the partiers just kept partying.
Thankfully we got a ride with some sober friends.
I laid down in my PJs for about 45 mins.
T-Dubs really just wanted to hang with the Groom, you know, weddings, everyone is everywhere all the time.
So i put on real clothes, hoddie and jeans, and my favorite sneakers.
This totally refreshed me! Gosh i was ready to drink then!

It was nice actually to just sit and chill with a few people as the bar cleared out.
Then the Best Man was nice enough to share the cigars with those of us left. Hmmmm it was really good cigars.
I like factory wrapped cigars. Sorryimnotsorry. I hate getting chunks in my mouth.

All around wonderful, the Groom made a little speech thanking everyone and i love them and miss them already! HAPPY WEDDINGMARRIAGE TO THE DOMINOS!!

Drove 13.5 hours home from NJ on Sunday. Crossed 3 entire states widths wise.

Darth loves good breakfast
Horray for normal home, and normal breakfast with my 5 am gym time.
It was long over due, i didnt even have time to take a picture of my food.

And for all my PUMPKIN SPICE CRAZIES!
Pumpkin Spice is No Where

Thanks, Loves! and for all the prayers and kind words. They mean so very much to me.

5 years married

button

Thanks for the coolest link up ever Holly and Mel. I love that it feel on my 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Mel, our song was Fever Dreams by Iron and Wine and yes it was before they were 'cool.

Some days her shape in the doorway
Will speak to me
A bird's wing on the window
Sometimes I'll hear her when she's sleeping
Her fever dream
A language on her face
I want your flowers like babies want God's love
Or maybe as sure as tomorrow will come
Some days, like rain on the doorstep
She'll cover me
With grace in all she offers
Sometimes I'd like just to ask her
What honest words
She can't afford to say, like
I want your flowers like babies want God's love
Or maybe as sure as tomorrow will come

In 2008 on this day, I married my best friend and on/off b/f of 5 years.
I was 22.
At this point our relationship we had only ever been long distance.
Country club wedding. With a star wars garter.
Meal was beef and chicken and a veggie dish.
Mom made a 'dessert' bar with all our favorite desserts.
We did cake center pieces.
Brown with an accent orange were our colors.
TDubs picked them. He wanted a brown suit.
My mom surprised us at the wedding with personalized M&Ms.
My sister probably took 100 hilarious pictures.
Thats the sash to the back of her dress.
She also gave the BEST SPEECH EVER!
I can't find it, but some day i will post it on here!
"you know you're in love when you let your sister and your b/f sit next to each other in church so they can play and write notes.."

We were graced with rain, twice, then a double rainbow at chruch.
The Mens got checkerboard vans as a gift.
The Ladies got a grab bag for the day of the wedding.
I love calla lilies.

My sister also can sing, like for real, she sang We Belong Together.
At dress rehersal my inlaw presented us with Personalize Wine! *heart swoon*
We did not serve alcohol at the wedding.

This is us celebrating 5 years this week with this wine. Its finger lakes wine. Hard to believe we've come this far, though 5 doesnt sound like much we have been through enough! :)

TDubs took me to Red Lobster i love sea food but live in Illinois
And then beat me at my favorite game, go figure

What would i do different?
if you asked me "what was your wedding like?"
BOTH he and I would respond "we had our mothers wedding."

Living at home, and still not being out of college (me), I fought with my mom alot and felt like I had to give my mom whatever, notice the no alcohol at the wedding...yeah. It was stressful.

Now that I am an Adult, i would do it ENTIRELY different. We had people there we didnt even know. Small, personal, maybe even destination, and BEER! DUH! It was a beautiful day...but...

The husband and I would tell you the best part was when we were finally alone. and on our honeymoon in St. Augstine, Florida. Where we turned our phones off. :)
