Weekly Goals Link Up

Operation Skinny Jeans

Oh Boy I am going to WISH I never linked up to this idea. But the accountability is a good slap in the face.
Recap:
1. Not run. - i walked hard on Monday then HURT for days :( stupidassmothereffinglegiwillcutyouoff. So good i won this one.

2. Still go to the gym. - 50/50 we slept two days. we went one and i stood around. cried in the locker room. hated myself. and felt stupid asking TDubs if he could take me home early because i didnt know what i could do.

3. Eat clean. ....meeehhhhh... No small group this week so we did better. But then Friday Mexican happen and so did that time of the month. 4 Sangria's later, smothered cheese something dinner, 3 baskets of chips, and then a beer run after dinner. not so hot. Beer again on Saturday night post BWW for lunch. But this was fun TDubs and i were finally both home, so we had a dance party in the living room. Love hims.

its a miracle he loves me. check this out. im a huge bitch.

This was after the morning i cried at the gym. He knows its so hard for me to not be running right now. so he sent me this really sweet email. :) and i couldnt resist being a jerkwad.

soooo 1 for 3. effing #3 is gonna be on there all the damn time.

1. Find inspiration for the 10 week challenge through the same awesome chica hosting this link up. This might be for me...

I also might make my own graphic that reads "Bitch through it, but just do it" unsure yet. I am vulgar. I always have been since i used the "f" word in 7th grade. Hooked for life!

2. Mama Laughlin's Arm workout. I hit up SkinnyMeg's last week. My shoulders are still sore.

2.1 AND I wanna "try" this plank work out because i think it would be good to do something other than arms but that doesnt bother my resting dumbass leg.

Race Results 10K

10K on Saturday morning at 7:42 am

This is how i felt on Saturday morning when my alarm went off at 5:30 am. NOT WORTH IT!
So i laid my lazy tired ass in bed checking the weather.
BOOOOO! Overcast.
i did eat very clean the days leading up to my races. This is a typical breakfast for me, turkey bacon, and 2 poached eggs. TDubs pumped up the jams via spotify at 6 am (your welcome neighbors) to get my head in the game. it was great. i was still pretty nervy.

Sooooooooo i ran on Friday, late at night. Downed some sleep aid. And got up Saturday for the 10K. i have been running and training since January. i over strained an inner thigh muscle about 5 weeks ago, and it has is been painful.

Lana stuck with me the whole time. She is just the awesome person, and i really miss that whole family a great deal. i was so grateful she wanted to run together. it helped pass the time plus it gave us an opportunity to catch up on life.

My goal had been to run the entire 10K, at about mile 2 the sun came out with a freaking VENGEANCE! We both peeled our coats off, this resulted in me having to carry my phone. frick on a stick.

Thankfully the course went through Old Town and had lots of tree shad. TDubs caught us between miles 3-4 which was fun to see him and some friends that were watching! the atmosphere is so neat with spectators.

Mile 5 ...gurgle grumble rawr stomach...uh oh...yeah, pretty much.
i ended up needing to walk.
it was all i could do to not cry while we walked.
Lana stayed with me, and i tried not to feel guilty about it.
double frick on a stick.

i figure we walked somewhere between half and 3/4 of a mile. then jogged the rest to the finish line.
i was completely out of sorts.
emotionally i couldn't even process my failure.
and i basically sprinted the steps at the stadium to the bathroom. fun times. i ended up with stomach issues for the rest of the weekend, oh the fun of that. and then we ate out twice.

Red Lobster. This was supposed to be my victory meal. it tasted like shit. not really, it was all smothered in butter so it tasted like fat kid heaven. i had a huge fruity drink and then went home and drank beer.

honestly i wasn't really ok with going to this dinner. it was not a victory. i am a type A person through and through. but sometimes you just have to acknowledge that you body just isn't having a good day.

I never had a problem during my training runs for any of this. my biggest issue had been my leg pain. so to say i'm disappointed is an understatement.

by Monday morning, i was convinced i would still run.
i will train some more and run a 10K alone and see if i can complete it.
it may take me longer than i planned but i will do it.

so i'm certainly not in the best spirits about the race depression much? but i did finish and even with walking our pace was still good. plus, the best thing about doing both events, you get 3 medals aawwwweeee yeaaaaahhhh! :)

Weight Loss Tips & Tricks Link Up

button

Amber a Crafty Healthy Mommy hosted her first link up. I've really enjoyed following her health and fitness journey so far and her sense of humor is nice :). So todays link up "Favorite Weight Loss Tips and Tricks!"

1. Humor! Seriously. You have to learn to laugh at EVERYTHING about your self and the life you lead. This goes hand in hand with my next one.

2. Try new things. You never know if you can do it or not, or if it will spark the competitiveness in you to achieve a new move/goal/pace/whateves

(I found this and its new and im trying it)

Sometimes its gonna be hilarious (like when i asked TDubs to help me with a new thing i wanted to try the next morning at the gym, we are facing each other doing the same thing in the gym and i realize..we effing match. same tee shirts, navy mesh shorts. fantastic. we are now 'those' people!)

3. DRINK A SHIT TON OF WATER. WHINE IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER BUT JUST DO IT! water is good for you. drink lots of it. pee every 35 minutes like me. Dont matter. just do it and bitch through it if you have to.

4. Know what you put in your mouth....food ditry minds. get an app. get it done.

5. Dont Cheat, Treat! Occasionally. Not Thrusday - Sunday night! *this may or may not be my huge Downfall and why i dont lose. Drink UP! But its ok to have a treat, in healthy portions, on occasion.

6. "I have them on the BODY SYSTEM"
Having a partner in fitness crime is great. I miss it lots. It helps pass the time, while at the gym, or running or walking or whatever you are doing.

SIDEBAR: TRY TRY TRY to remember you dont HAVE to compete with this person. Or that you are less than them if they are more fit than you. Just find someone that is enjoyable to be with. I know people who wont work out with me. Here's the reality, I'd RATHER NOT be alone than run my fastest run ever. 100% of the time. Try to not compare.

7. Find inspiration. following blogs, instagram, pinterest and fb to get some inspiration. I LOVE that SkinnyMeg is doing workout posts on Wednesdays.
I just tried her arms one today! And a Selfie at the gym, havent got the hang of that yet.

8. Ditch the scale. Shes a lying hoe.

9. Pump up the jams. Didnt make it to the gym? At home? Dont wanna search pinterest for inspiration or at home things. Crank spotify, and DANCE IT OUT! Pull the blinds if you have too, in order to dance, but i defy you to feel worse after!

10. Have a beer.

I dont have great success story. Or any loss so far for the most part. but these are all important. there are more im sure. but #10 is the most important. Mostly, i do beer.

Race Results 5K

So this is my friend and her 3 daughters. during the 5K on Friday I ran with the little blondie in front of me, Ceelee. HOWEVER, when they showed up at the race i did not anticipate that the girls were ALL going to run the entire 5K. Oops, i did NOT prepare for that.

Ceelee and I ran the entire 5K together. She rocked it. I had so much fun with her. The picture is me and her (not pictured) running and jumping over the finish line, 'cause you have to sprint and jump. The marathon takes your photo but i think it would have been cuter with her in it.
(they want $50 for this pic IDONTEFFINGTHINKSO)

i really enjoyed running with her. i was also very nervous to have Lana's daughter in my care. :) But she was the coolest. And after the race she told Lana she thinks she like to do a 10K NBD. Talk about cool kid.

the 5K is a hot mess at the Illinois Marathon, over 6,000 people showed up and they don't make you get into pace groups, they just hold signs and ask the walkers to move to the back, which they DO NOT DO. beautiful national anthem and silence for Boston, made me a bit teary. then we were off! we all started together, one of Lana's other girls took off, and whats a mother to do? But race after her, with her youngest in hand.

i turned to Ceelee and told her we could run as fast as she wanted. so we stuck together. she ran the whole thing with an 13 minute pace. Not only that, but we were weaving in and out of people the ENTIRE TIME. I understand its a beginners race, but frankly i think this race is unsafe, and i am not sure i will run it ever again. Also it was at night and not well light.

Ceelee had a great attitude we cheered and people and alllllllll the drunk kids on campus! We got and gave tons of high fives! As we approached the stadium, and the 50 yard finish line, Ceelee starting leaping and jumping! and told me we should run as hard as we could over the finish line, and that we should jump so our pictures are cool. And they were.

All in all i had a really good time. The crowds and anxiety of finding Will before and after are hard for me. Might have a little social anxiety issue there. but i had a great time and that's what mattered!
